CYO Coach Certification - RSVP!

Don't forget to RSVP for your training classes.

Fingerprinting – A schedule can be found on the Archdiocese Website. Please see the office PRIOR to making your appointment. You will need a fingerprinting form.

Virtus Training – St. Linus will host a training session on Wednesday, August 20th, 2008 from 6-9pm. YOU MUST REGISTER: http://www.virtus.org/virtus/

CYO Coach Like a Champion Training – St. Linus will host a training on Thursday, August 28st, 2008 from 6-9pm. RSVP with the Office

The completion of the attached documents:
Coaches Code of Conduct form.
Coaches Proof of Fingerprinting form.

School Policy on Eligibility for Sports / Cheer Participants:

Progress Reports and Report Cards indicate extra-curricular eligibility. Each participant in sports and or cheer shall maintain for each academic subject a grade of “C” or higher and a Grade Point Average of 2.00 or higher. Students who do not meet the academic requirements at the time of Progress Reports will be placed on Academic Probation. A student on Academic Probation has two weeks from the date Progress Reports are sent home to raise his / her grades to meet eligibility requirements. During this time the student is able to attend and participate in regularly scheduled practices and competitions. If a student is unable to meet the eligibility requirements within the two weeks, he /she will be deemed Ineligible. Students who are Ineligible will be removed from their teams, and unable to participate in Sports / Cheer practices or competitions, until the following Sports Season.

Students must also maintain a conduct and effort grade of “B-” or higher.

Students in grades 3-5 who have met academic eligibility, but have lower than a B- in conduct or effort will be placed on Probation. He/she must show improvements in these areas within the two week probation period, in order to be taken off Probation and be deemed Eligible. It will be up to the student’s teachers to determine if the student has shown improvements in these areas.

Students in grades 6-8 who have met academic eligibility, but have lower than a B- in conduct or effort, or 3 detentions (82 points – refer to the junior high discipline policy) are deemed automatically Ineligible and will not be able to participate in Sports/Cheer practices or competitions until the following Sports Season.
